Port of Galveston

Galveston, Texas is the primary port of call for cruises going to Mexico, South America and the Panama Canal. The port is about an hour from the nearest airport.

Nearby Airports:

There are two major airports serving the Port of Galveston. Houston Hobby International Airport (HOU) is a little closer, about 45 miles from Galveston, while George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is a little larger but farther away (about 65 miles).

Driving Directions:

From Harborside Drive (State Highway 275): Take I-45 South to Exit 1C - Harborside Dr. (Hwy 275). Take the first exit after the causeway. Turn left (north) on to Harborside Drive. Continue approximately 4.7 Miles to Kempner/22nd Street. Turn left on Kempner/22nd Street to the Cruise Terminal.

From Broadway (Interstate 45): Interstate 45 becomes Broadway. Continue straight (east) on Broadway. Turn Left on Kempner/22nd Street to Cruise Terminal (9 City Blocks).

From State Highway 87 - West to Galveston Island Using Vehicle Ferry System: Exit Ferry on to Ferry Road. Continue Ferry Road to Harborside Drive. Turn Right (West) on Harborside Drive. Continue Approximately (20 City Blocks). Turn Right on Kempner/22nd Street to Cruise Terminal.

Port Parking:

For safety, security and passenger convenience, proceed directly to The Texas Cruise Ship Terminals on Galveston Island (Terminal No. 1 and Terminal No. 2) to drop off passengers and baggage. Porters will assist you with your baggage and Police Officers will direct the driver to the appropriate parking lot for that day. All Official Port of Galveston Parking Lots are marked with the Port of Galveston logo and are secure and patrolled 24 hours per day by the Port of Galveston Police Department.

Transportation from Official Port of Galveston Parking Lots to the Cruise Terminal is Provided by Free Shuttle Buses. Buses do not have Provisions to Handle Baggage and Luggage.

Cash, Travelers Checks and Credit Cards (Visa and MasterCard) are accepted at Port of Galveston Official Parking Lots.

Long-Term lot rates are based on the length of your cruise, and range from $40-$85. Vehicles, such as buses or large campers, occupying two or more parking spaces will be charged double the regular rates.
